Puppy basic training and skills, call for dates, all puppies and owners will receive one to one training within the group throughout the day, teaching kind fair and effective methods, using reward based system of training, (clickers will be supplied) a booklet on what has been covered during the session, and goodie bags for all attendees, and their owner. refreshments supplied during the day however pack lunch would need to be needed (or there is a nice pub in the village)
Older pups and dogs, call for dates, Basic skills would be beneficial however one to one help and advice will be available throughout the day so all can apply, Please ensure your dog is able to cope with other dogs of all shapes and sizes and people, children are encouraged to have a go if they would like to train as well. (however if you are not sure about how your dog will cope, its not a problem, however please do let me know at the time of booking you on the course. The day will consist of rally o' training and agility equipment that will be used to add a extra fun element into our training sessions, the methods, again are reward based, kind, fair and effective methods will be used so please no choke chains or check collars to be used during our session together.
Remember to bring lots of tasty little treats for your dog,(tiny pieces of chicken, ham, spam, sausage, hotdog, cheese are sufficient) don't buy special treats as dogs love our human food and during our training sessions is the only time they should eat it, so they work hard, concentrate and have fun whilst they do so, (again rewarding for the dog and the owner and yes the trainers as well, also remember do not feed your puppy, dog before the training session, so no breakfast, they will get lots of treats during the day). The cost of each session is £POA, we start at 9.30 meeting without dogs (so leave in locked car in carpark outside hall), so meet the others within your group and have a coffee or tea, then at 10am we bring in the puppies/dogs and meet and greet, and introductions, we then explain who we are, about the association of pet dog trainers, how dogs learn, (good or bad), how the method of training we use is kind, fair and effective and why it works so effectively. We have several pee and tea breaks, so if you have a crate that your dog is used to being in then bring it a long and set it up in the hall. This gives them time to rest and relax and the same for owner. We also advise bring a coat (as if weather permits we may go outside to practice recalls and wear appropriate foot wear, trainers are usually best most comfortable option) For any further information or advice please contact Angela 01604 771 336 / 07703 280 359, application forms for this training workshop can be printed out from the website(if this is a problem then just call and I will send you a form by post), however please do contact me first to ensure places are still available before sending your application form and payment ( which will need to be completed and posted with your payment to me at 25 Holdenby road, east Haddon, northants, nn6 8dh, before the day of training).
